Synopsis

The dramatic story of Field-Marshal Rommel's career during World War II, first as the brilliant commander of the crack Afrika Korps, then as a member of the rebellious group of German officers who conspired to assassinate Hitler in the famous July plot of 1944. An exciting, taut war film with James Mason as the Desert Fox of the title and a supporting cast that includes Cedric Hardwicke, Jessica Tandy and Luther Adler (Hitler). The film's opening remains one of the most exciting pre-credit sequences ever put on film. Directed by Henry Hathaway.
