Synopsis

A primeval experience set 80,000 years ago.
One of the most unusual films of recent times - a science fantasy adventure with a difference, set not in some distant galaxy of the future but in a time no less perilous and exciting - Earth 80,000 years ago when primitive tribes ruled the land and were sustained by their most prized possession - fire! Packed with realistic fight sequences and spectacular effects Quest For Fire follows a tribe's attempts to replenish fire when their life-sustaining flame is lost during a battle with marauding Neanderthals. Three of the survivors set out on a quest for a living flame but before they can learn the secret of making fire for themselves they encounter danger from stampeding mammoths, giant bears, sabre-toothed lions and a tribe of cannibals. Quest For Fire was directed by the Oscar-winning film-maker Jean-Jacques Annaud and features Everett McGill, Ron Perlman and Nameer El-Kadi. "Quest For fire" is an authentic replication of life in pre-historic times and as such, does not contain any modern language.
