Synopsis

World War III is over. America has been devastated by nuclear warfare. Only a handful of people survive. In California a small group receive faint radio signals from New York and decide to make the hazardous journey from Coast to Coast. But survival turns out to be even more terrifying than death for the nuclear ravages of earth have upset the balance of nature. Cockroaches of huge proportions live off human blood, fearsome giant scorpions are ready and waiting....... Horror and sci-fi combine in this frightening vision of the future, derived from the novel by Roger Zelazny and starring George Peppard, Jan-Michael Vincent and Dominique Sanda. Milt Rice is in charge of the special effects; the music is by Jerry Goldsmith, the direction by Jack Smight.
