Synopsis

The US Cavalry was powerless... It took one man with a vendetta to beat them!
Set in the 1880's on the southwestern State border of America, 'The Deserter' is the brutal story of a grief stricken army Captain set on revenge. When his wife is killed in a bloody raid by marauding Apaches, Captain Victor Kaleb (Bekim Fehmiu) deserts from the army to avenge his wife's killers. For two years, he rides the hills an outlaw, mercilessly gunning down apaches. When General Miles (John Huston) decides to attack the Apaches on their own ground, using his own especially trained commandos, he sends for Kaleb, the only man that knew La Spira de Diablo (The Devil's Backbone) where the Indians hid. With a promise of a Presidential pardon, after a vicious training period, Kaleb leads his chosen men into a battle to the death.
