Synopsis

"Give me a girl at an impressionable age and she is mine for life"
Miss Jean Bodie - "born in Edinburgh and weathered in Aberdeen" - is a school-teacher whose liberal attitude toward the education of her young ladies is rather ahead of its time. Now approaching her "prime", Jean is restless and bored with the gloomy surroundings of industrial Newcastle and she takes a new job at the prestigious Marcia Blaine's School for Girls in Edinburgh. Whilst they are shocking to the other members of staff, her romantic ideas are thrilling to her new Girls and gradually she begins to select from the her chosen few, her special favourites - her "creme de la creme"...
