Synopsis

A Hammer Film
It is early in the 19th Century and several beautiful young girls have died, seemingly from old age. Vampirism is suspected, and fear is rampant in the countryside. A stranger rides proudly into town, with a battle jacket slung over his shoulders. Two swords, a rapier and a samuri [sic], gleam as they rest sheathed on his hips. Once a member of the Imperial Guard, Captain Kronos (Horst Janson) is accompanied by Professor Grost (John Carter). Kronos' strength and experience (having already survived an attack by the evil forces of a vampire) are balanced perfectly by Grost's intelligence. A man of great passion, Kronos meets Carla (Caroline Munroe) who becomes his mistress. As more girls go to their death, Dr Marcus (John Carson) begs Kronos to help in the hunt for the criminal. There is a strange turn of events when Marcus feels blood on his lips, the same red flecks that have been found on each of the dead girls. As he stares at his face in the mirror, Marcus knows that he must be destroyed. By eliminating Marcus, Kronos eventually finds the true clue to the heart of the vampire.
