Synopsis

Animals and Children warm the heart, but Dennis Weaver and Vera Miles keep in touch. A story of everybody's love for a pet.
The old story of a small boy with faith and trust in a very wild, strong animal, which returns his love in spite of the call of its own kind in the wild. Ben is a Bear released from the comforts of domestic life where he was raised as a cub, returning to the forests and his own kind. Their paths again cross when Tom Wedloe (the boy's father) is trapped by a fallen tree and in the path of a fierce charge from a wild bear. The bear is Ben, recognised by the boy Mark, who intervenes and Ben obediently follows instructions to free the boy's father. This is the familiar story of a boy and his pet with the same realisation growing upon the boy and the pet, now an adult bear with a family and responsibilities of its own. But when a black noses comes sticking through the boy's bedroom window and the rest of Ben follows quickly - both families are forgotten for a while.
