The Story of the First Multipart truck Grand Prix
Few sporting events have achieved such an instant impact as the Multipart Truck Grand Prix. Police in two counties had to close the motorways as nearly 100,000 spectators crammed into Donington Park. The lucky ones were witness to a tyre-smoking, all-action heavyweight spectacular as superstars of the calibre of Barry Sheene, Martin Brundle, Barry Lee and Steve Parrish jousted wheel to wheel (and, occasionally, cab-to-cab) with the men who drive these muscular heavyweights for a living. The pace, the power, the colour and the closeness of the racing - punctuated by some amazing stunt driving and riding - are all captured in this unique video.
