Synopsis

'The most ferociously original horror film of the year' Stephen King
In the literary tradition of Stephen King (the world's top-selling horror author - Carrie, The Shining, Salem's Lot) and in the cinematic mode of George Romero (Night of the Living dead, Zombies) and with the comic strip gusto of E.C. Comics (Weird Tales, Uncanny Tales etc.) 'Evil dead' is a visual and aural attack on the senses which requires a strong stomach and a healthy sense of humour. Whilst holidaying in the Tennessee woodlands, five innocent teenagers unwittingly unleash the spirit of the Evil Dead - which possesses first the trees and then the bodies of the friends themselves. The demonic monsters can only be halted in their frenzied flesh-eating rampage by the act of bodily dismemberment... Tension mounts as one by one the teenagers fall victim to the diabolical Sumerian spirit until finally, amidst a tour-de-force display of special effects the lone survivor solves the mystery which has unleashed the nightmarish terror...
