Synopsis

The Real Viet Nam.[sic] They lived it... died for it.... wished to God they could forget it....They were..... THE BOYS IN COMPANY C
The Brutal truth about a bloody war. This harrowing and haunting film was one of the cinema's first action adventures to take a realistic view of the war in Vietnam. It follows the fortunes of five young men from widely differing backgrounds whose lives merge when they find themselves in the same company in the US Marine Corps. There's the naive farm boy Billy, fast-talking city boy Vinnie, former draft dodger Dave, the quiet would-be writer Alvin, and the cool black dope pusher Tyrone. What they go through, the horrors they have to face, and the permanent effect it has on their lives makes for a gripping and chilling indictment of a futile and bloody war.
