Synopsis

QUITE SIMPLY THERE HAS NEVER EVER BEEN A MOVIE LIKE IT.
BUGSY MALONE is a gangster musical set in New York in 1929. It is a world of would-be hoodlums, show-girls and dreamers. But it is a world where you never see an adult. The entire film is played by children, average age around 12. The casting took one year to complete and the assembles "actors" came from as far afield as down-town Los Angeles, through up-town Harlem, to Lakenheath U.S.A.F. air-base in Suffolk. It was made at Pinewood Studios and written and directed by Alan Parker. Alan Marshall was the Producer with Executive Producer David Puttnam. The score is by American singer-composer Paul Williams.
