Dawn breaks over an American city of a million people. Another hot day. The mayor, the fire chief, the morning TV newsreader, a doctor and a disillusioned oil refinery worker are all waking up to their everyday problems when a single cigarette end falls on dry grass as gasoline leaks into the city's sewers. The combination is catastrophic. Trapped in a blazing hospital these commonplace people are forced to confront their weaknesses and rally together for the sake of survival. A stunning disaster movie with some spectacular action and conflagration scenes.
