Synopsis

The enormity of this horrific story surrounding the historically true figure of Countess Elizabeth Bathory and her legendary penchant for bathing in the blood of the 600 virgin peasant girls she is reputed to have murdered, makes this an exceptionally gruesome movie. Polish beauty, Ingrid Pitt plays the ghastly Countess in this gory production. Interestingly, this unpalatable episode is thought to be the fore-runner of the modern vampire myth.
