Synopsis

Take two men, a beautiful woman and an obsession, and you have the makings of Silver Dream Racer. David Essex stars as Nick Freeman an up-and-coming Grand Prix Motorcycle rider, in a hell-for-leather tale of unbridled ambition, love, jealously, defeat and victory set against the danger and the din of bike racing at Donnington, Brands Hatch and Silverstone. Stunning action footage of actual Grand Prix races backs up hair raising scenes in which Nick Freeman and Californian golden boy McBride (Beau Bridges) duel and dice with death, cooly [sic] observed by Julie (Cristina Raines) the beautiful girl with an axe to grind. Probably the best motorcycle movie ever made.
