Synopsis

When a VIP becomes a POW, it's laughter all the way to the GHQ!
James Robertson Justice plays Sir Ernest Pease a crusty director of aeronautics shot down over Germany while posing as a naval officer to see how his radar is working. Captured and taken to Stalag Luft 10, he keeps his identity a secret, even from his fellow captives. Then a message comes through that he is to be helped to escape - urgently. Scorning the Escape Committee's every plan, he concocts one of his own - and becomes so famous that he finds himself on TV after the war. But there's a big surprise in store...
