Synopsis

Beautiful Brooke Shields and handsome newcomer, Christopher Atkins are two young people ship-wrecked on an exotic tropical island. Leo McKern is the crusty old seaman who survives with them and teaches them how to live by their own means. After his death, the two grow up, learning how to fend for themselves. As the years go by, their childish affection grows into an innocent love. But all is not what it seems in their island paradise. This film is the recent version of the classic 1902 story with director Randal Kleiser (whose previous film was "GREASE") adding the liberated flair of the 1980's to a story that is as exciting, tender and compulsive as it is timeless.
