A small town doctor returns home to find that what appears to be a case of mass hysteria has broken out amongst his patients. Several of them claim that one of their family is 'different' in an almost imperceptible way. Naturally sceptical of their claims, he follows conventional means of treatment, that is until he himself realises the horrific truth. This classic sci-fl movie has spawned a host of imitators, yet few have matched its brilliant build-up of suspense, its originality of theme or the subtle chill of fear that creeps up the spine of the viewer!
