Synopsis

In a midwestern city Susan Narcross returns home one night to discover the body of her flatmate impaled on a spear. The only clue she can give detective is a man named Charlie whom Susan's boss had interviewed earlier in the day. The police are baffled by the murder as well as a series of suicides by known criminals. Charlie, an ex-Vietnam war veteran has escaped from a mental institution. He continually flashes back on the war as well as his own sexual impotence. He is hired as an assassin by a group of law and order businessmen headed by ex-Army officer Stern to kill criminals who've escaped from justice. Unfortunately Charlie is out of control, killing where ever he finds a victim. Included are drowning a hitch hiker, running a pitch fork through the neck of a young farm girl and hacking to death a delivery man with a meat cleaver.
