Synopsis

Another triumph from Oscar Nominee Jack Lemmon
Dramatist Bernard Slade's Broadway smash comes to the screen complete with an Academy Award-nominated performance by JACK LEMMON, who previously triumphed in the role of Scottie Templeton on the Broadway stage. TRIBUTE is Scottie's story - the portrait of a dying man who is determined to achieve reconciliation with his son Jud (ROBBY BENSON). Scottie is a failed writer who has become a popular, through second rate press agent [sic], a compulsive performer who always leaves them laughing. Jud is a sober, ambitious young man who holds contempt for his father's failures and resentment for his childhood abandonment. A sensitive, moving screenplay woven with moments of high comedy.
