Synopsis

So funny you'll laugh your head off.
Steve Martin stars as Dr Michael Hfuhruhurr, the world's most brilliant brain surgeon and owner of the world's most unpronounceable name. Besides his genius at the operating table, the good doctor has another overriding obsession; the memory of his beloved deceased wife. Into his empty life (or more precisely in front of his speeding car) runs Dolores Benedict (Kathleen Turner), a stunning beauty who uses her manifold charms to frustrate and tease ageing husbands into untimely deaths. The besotted Doctor, who hasn't a clue that his new found Princess has a heart of stone, falls headlong into marriage only to be frustrated at his every attempt to consummate the aforesaid union. Deciding that a long honeymoon abroad will do the trick, the Doctor bumps into rival genius Dr. Alfred Necessiter (David Warner) who has discovered a new way to transfer brains from one body to another. Meanwhile, the Hfuhruhurr marriage s on the rocks, the Doctor has fallen in love with a brain in a jar and Dolores has got murder on her mind. There's only one way out but it's impossible, or is it...? 90 minutes if comic lunacy which inspired Newsweek's Jack Kroll to write: "In a time burbling with misused and perverted intelligence, Steve Martin is a welcome apostle of pure idiocy".
