Synopsis

"A mixture of National Lampoon's Animal House and Porky's..." Daily Mai.l THE MOST ARRESTING COMEDY OF THE YEAR! The Mayoress of a large US city throws open the doors of the Police Academy to a new generation of recruits: anybody who wants to join, regardless of height, weight, age, sex, race, religion or educational background. Meet 'D-Squad', a who's who of cranks and ex-cons. There's Moses Hightower, a former florist built like a brick outhouse; Larvelle Jones, he doesn't say much but he can impersonate machine-gun fire when you're least expecting it; Jorge Martin, the last of the great lovers who'll stop at nothing to get the girl; Eugene Tackleberry whose motto, "if it moves, shoot it", is somewhat at odds with the rule book. Stars Steve Guttenberg and Kim Cattrall fail to convince us that it's safe to walk the streets, but that doesn't matter because you'll probably die laughing first. Police Academy is a sidesplitting satirical salute to the forces of law and order - the men, women and borderline cases who dedicate their lives to protecting the public from people very much like themselves. It's also the funniest, sexiest, most interesting comedy you're ever likely to see.
