Synopsis

This video shows the expertise of professional dressage trainer David Hunt, who is well known for his outstanding ability to express himself lucidly while in action. The programme consists of three sections.

"In the first section, David rides his five-year old Deauville to demonstrate what he wants to achieve in respect of the three working paces in simple movements on one track. In the second he rides Miss Adair's three quarter-trained Tamarisk to show the logical progression into the more gymnastic exercises on two tracks, based on the shoulder-in, the travers and the half-pass. In the final section he again rides Tamarisk through his training in the movements of the high-school, i.e., the tempo changes, pirouettes, piaffe and passage. The three sections together give a realistic impression of the problems any dressage rider can encounter, how they are to be coped with and what the rider should be aiming for."
