Mystery surrounds a cargo ship which arrives in port with all it's crew dead. On investigating the hold, a strange melon-like fruit is found. It's deadly secret is soon discovered. When it senses a human being close by, it attaches itself to the victim and devours them. The source of the seed and the farms which are growing the deadly fruit must be found before they can destroy the world's population.
