A young janitor (William Hurt) works in the building where a Vietnamese diamond importer is found murdered. An attractive TV interviewer (Sigourney Weaver) interviews him about the crime and finds herself becoming more deeply involved in events than she might have wished. This cleverly constructed whodunnit [sic] keeps most of its surprises for the final reel and ranks as one of the most imaginative thrillers of recent times. Christopher Plummer co-stars.
