The story of a wealthy family patriarch whose elder son was a United States President slain some 19 years before and whose younger son (Jeff Bridges) sets about tracking down his brother's killers, uncovering along the way a presidential assassination conspiracy. John Huston gives one of his powerhouse performances as the family head; intelligence chief Anthony Perkins, multi-millionaire Sterling Hayden, plus Eli Wallach, Ralph Meeker, Toshiro Mifune and Richard Boone are among those Bridges encounters during his investigations.
