The ultimate 'car' movie, the zany story of a madcap cross-country scramble known as The Cannonball in which a group of contestants try to outdo each other as they race full speed ahead across the American highways from Connecticut to California. Among the participants: car fanatic Burt Reynolds and his manic mechanic Dom DeLuise (known to himself as Captain America) who kidnap lovely Farrah Fawcett along the way; English businessman Roger Moore who drives a James Bond style car; ageing swingers Dean Martin and Sammy " Davis Jr; and female speed freaks Adrienne Barbeau and Terry Bradshaw.
