Synopsis
Are you ready for Teddy?
Teddy Pendergrass, one of the world's most sought after male vocalists gained recognition singing R & B and Gospel. Developing his vocal prowess, Teddy led the famous Harold Melvin & The Bluenotes to stardom with such chart-topping hits as "If You Don't Know Me By Now," "Bad Luck" and "Wake Up Everybody." Spawned on by these huge successes, in 1977 Teddy released his first of 6 Platinum and Gold solo albums. Teddy Pendergrass Live in London spotlights the singer's most popular hits including the sensational "Close The Door," "Love T.K.O.," "Turn Off The Lights" and "You're My Latest My Greatest Inspiration" and highlights nine more songs taking the magnetic singer from soft, sweet love ballards [sic] to a smoking, burning rendition of "The More I Get The More I Want" and "Come Go With Me." The songs included in Live in London are part of a repertoire which has given Teddy Pendergrass 5 Grammy Award Nominations. Teddy's unique presence and brilliance is evident throughout this entire performance. Filmed at the Hammersmith Odeon in February 1982 the concert drew thunderous cheers from the audience as well as rave reviews from all the British press. This sold-out show marked Teddy Pendergrass' return to England as an internationally acclaimed singing sensation.
