Synopsis

"Meatballs" is an irreverent comedy about a Canadian summer camp, where management, staff and campers are the greatest collection of lovable lunatics ever assembled. Directed by Ivan Reitman, who co-produced "National Lampoon's Animal House", it stars Bill Murray (of TV's 'Saturday Night Live') as Tripper, the head counsellor who has two goals. One, to have more fun than he has in previous years, and secondly to have an intimate relationship with the head female counsellor, Roxanne (played by Kate Lynch). So when a gang of seventeen year olds, on their first summer as councellors in training, descend on North Star, Tripper discovers that anything can and does happen. Amidst roller coaster love affairs, rivalry with the nearby camp it turns out to be a starry summer where although much seems to go wrong, the most important things turn out right. Or do they?
