David, disillusioned by Western civilization, seeks refuge and peace in a South Sea island. But even there he finds men are corrupt and evil and he is soon mixed up with a gang of gold-hunters who will stop at nothing. During his adventures he falls in love with Marion, a beautiful islander, and eventually decides to return with her to civilisation. But his dream of a virgin island is to prove too strong.
