Opera star, SARITA VERDUGO is distraught over the mystery death of her widowed father. She cancels her tour and returns, to her home in Mexico City. The police call Sr. Verdugo's death accidental. Adding to SARITA's worries is the infatuation of her young sister, LINDA for MIKE EVERETT, a pop singer whose eye is on the Verdugo fortune. Mike has hidden a cigar box on the Verdugo estate; he is unearthing it when discovered by KENNETH. Challenged, MIKE says "the cigar box worked on the old man, why not SARITA", but KENNETH assures him there's a better way. They leave, unaware the family chauffeur ROBERTO, is listening and now knows how the father was killed; he blackmails MIKE and KENNETH, having, himself, now recovered the box, SARITA, shaken, is further distracted when LINDA says she's leaving to marry MIKE. SARITA reveals she is LINDA'S mother LINDA, incredulous rushes to meet MIKE at the church SARITA follows. As SARITA rushes to the tower a body hurtles to the street. It is LINDA. Dazed, SARITA bends over LINDA as KENNETH and MIKE try to run her down, a scream, from the tower, warns SARITA. A police car arrives, it skids to a stop and pins SARITA to the church. At the morque. LINDA identifies the body as her mother. The police apprehend KENNETH and MIKE SARITA and LINDA, now mother and daughter, embrace.
