James Mason stars in this gripping thriller as Dobbs, an Agency member of the Secret Service. Assigned to discovering the reasons behind the suicide of a Foreign Office member, he unearths the man's past - that he was a member of the Communist Party whilst an undergraduate. Dobbs believes that he was not alone in his Communist convictions, and begins his search into the corridors of power, only to find that he meets a blank wall. Could it be that the people running the country are those he is hunting? When the powers that be turn on him, Dobbs has nowhere to run - certainly not to his beautiful wife with whom his relationship has turned sour.
