Claire and Laura are kidnapped and delivered to an isolated community of cult followers whose members are kept young on a blood based elixir. The unbelievably horrendous actions of the cult drive her to escape, but she is captured and gruesomely punished. She witnesses the death of Claire who is eaten alive by rats. Baru, the High Priest, falls in love with her, renounces the cult and makes a tortuous escape with her, giving his life as he passes 'the ring of age' and ages two hundred years in her arms.
