While her husband is out of town, Donna Trenton and her son Tad drive out to Joe Camber's isolated farmstead to have her car repaired. The place is deserted - except, that is, for the Cambers' enormous St. Bernard dog, Cujo. CUJO - once lovable, gentle, affectionate - has been bitten by a bat and has become a rabid monster, an unrecognizable beast maddened by pain. Attempting to leave, Donna's car breaks down. Soon the lonely farmyard will ring with her screams.
