When you're an 18 year old Rock 'n' Roller from the wrong side of the tracks it isn't easy... Making the Grade... but it sure is fun! Eddie Keaton (JUDD NELSON), a streetwise drifter from Jersey, has no money and a very angry bookie. Help arrives in the unexpected form of Palmer Woodrow (DANA OLSEN), rich, spoiled and just too lazy to bother to go to college. For a handsome sum, Eddie agrees to attend Hoover Academy in place of Palmer and being more Polyester Set than Ivy League, his arrival heralds the beginning of every good preppy's worst nightmare!
