Sam (Peter Sellers) is a retired vaudeville performer, alone and lonely in his recluse's room... until one day he is befriended by two South London waifs whose tough environment has given them a drab outlook on life. Sam's showmanship, pluckiness and fantastic tales from his checkered past bring magic into the kids' lives, as the three embark on lighthearted adventures around the city.
