POLITICAL INTRIGUE, VIOLENCE, DEATH
A high-ranking army officer in a Latin American state is assassinated. The murder releases a wave of violence in the country, and the local Government assigns the task of mediating between two extremist political factions to a Swedish Diplomat. The assignment has none of the prerequisites of success. The young diplomat finds that he is merely being used, in a conflict in which disillusion, violence and death have long held the upper hand. Under constant threat of death, he tries to fulfil his assignment, but instead becomes the bait in a trap where brutality and oppression crush the resistance of the weaker group.
