Synopsis

An exciting Action and Suspense story of a dog! His fierce REVENGE for the killer of his master!
A story of Suspense and Action, but also the story of a dog, "BEARHEART", it's [sic] loyalty and fierce revenge on a drunken hunter who shot and killed his master. The dog finds a home with a family, but when the boy, "SPROUT" chases BEARHEART with a toy rifle, unaware of the dog's dislike of guns, the dog turns on the boy and is eventually turned away by the townspeople. BEARHEART makes his home in the hills of the Northwest where he mates and lives like a wild animal in the rugged woods. He encounters many fights with the Wolves and survives the dangers in this wild region. The Adams' family with their two children, Hay and Beth, live outside town at the old trading post. Beth is attacked by a bear and BEARHEART comes to her rescue, fighting off the bear in a fierce battle. Beth's father, unaware that BEARHEART has saved Beth from the bear, shoots at BEARHEART. The dog is then taken to their cabin until it eventually tries to return to the wild, followed by Beth. Her family, finding her gone, track them into the mountains, armed with GUNS. The find Beth with the dog. An ending with one of the truly touching scenes in the film as BEARHEART is broken of his fear and dislike of guns.
