When an incurable disease threatens the life of his son, an eminent surgeon is driven to desperate measures. A secret experimental transplant is his only hope, but in this case the donor isn't human - it's an ape! Only death lies at the end of this surgeon's knife, however. Although his son survives, he lives the life of a hideous mutant, half-man, half-ape. When the creature escapes, a small town finds itself in the fearful grip of uncontrollable carnage.
