Remembering the way it was isn't always easy
College reunions stir up a great many memories, and for beautiful Louise Swerner (Joan Hackett) the 10th year reunion for the class of '63 rekindles memories of an old college love affair with the handsome Joe Hart (James Brolin). Now married to Joe's ex-classmate, the ever-loving but somewhat inept Micky Swerner (Cliff Gorman), Louise realises that she has never stopped loving Joe, and during the reunion weekend their love is renewed. Micky, meanwhile, becomes more aggressive, drunk and jealous, and throws himself into futile competitive games with his rival. Class of '63 develops into a moving love drama which captures the hysterical oppressiveness of class reunions, the empty ritual and competitiveness of men-boys at play, and the potential danger of rekindling emotions better left alone.
