In a motel near Los Angeles, Paolo, an Italian journalist rescues a man from two attackers. Paolo recognises the man as his childhood friend Guilio Lamberti. Guilio tells him that his life is in danger from assassins paid by the giant Chemicals Inc. company for whom he works. The next day when Paolo goes to see Guilio, he is stunned to find out that he died a few hours ago in a car accident. Convinced that his friend was murdered, he sets out to unravel the mystery of Guilio's death. He is thrown into the world of high-powered intrigue, corruption and violence, where the stakes are very high to keep the affair under cover. In his search for the truth, Paolo's life is endangered as the unexpected climax is revealed.
