In the small Texan town of Widow Rock, Burt (FRANCO NERO) nominates his sheriff's star to a deputy and leaves for Mexico in pursuit of a notorious bandit who had killed his father. His younger brother, Jim, accompanies him on the long ride to Mexico, where they search together for Cisco's bandit hide-out. Despite the secret loyalty and power of Cisco's followers, the two courageous brothers prevail against all odds and endure many adventures until they discover the bandit. Burt introduces himself to Cisco, because his hour of reckoning has come. Cisco reveals to him that Jim is not really his brother - but Cisco's son whom he had abandoned in the arms of Burt's mother. A conflict of feelings battles in Burt's heart, but justice and the law triumph tragically. Jim is destined to save Burt, but he will lose his own life, while Burt is obliged to kill Cisco.
