The demand is simple, it concerns a high court judge and a prominent business man. It states that they have to commit suicide, in public, or the city of Genoa will be destroyed. The demand is made by 'The Sphnyx', a revenge-crazed mad man, recently escaped from an institution for the criminally insane. 'The Sphynx' is somewhere in the City and will only talk to one man - a young police officer, Mark Terzi. Through a labyrinth of intrigue and deception Terzi tracks his man. But even he isn't prepared for the final bloody confrontation.
