Sex and sleuthing go hand-in-hand for Bob West (CHRISTOPHER NEIL), young greenhorn assistant to top private detective Judd Blake (JON PERTWEE). While his boss is away carrying out some very 'private' investigations, Bob gets his first case. A beautiful model, Laura Sutton (SUZY KENDALL), is being blackmailed for £50,000. She must get back some compromising nude photographs or forfeit her huge inheritance. Key suspects and others Bob encounters are played by a gallery of very familiar faces - HARRY H. CORBETT:[sic] FRED EMNEY; LIZ FRASER; IRENE HANDL; IAN LAVENDER; ADRIENNE POSTA; ANNA QUAYLE; WILLIAM RUSHTON; and DIANA DORS. The trail leads to a forboding ancestral home, Grimsdyke Manor, where Bob's nocturnal prowling finds him stumbling over a dead body - which he manages to lose! Then there's a kinky housewife in black leather and an encounter with a police inspector's amorous wife. A blackmail note leads Bob to a sexy cabaret club, and more cases of mistaken identity involving wild chases with jealous gangsters and bouncers. Bob returns to gatecrash Grimsdyke Manor on a stolen bicycle in the nick of time - and at last the identity of Laura's blackmailer can be exposed... !
