Synopsis
Handsome tough guy SCOTT BRADY, veteran star of countless rugged Westerns - including "Johnny Guitar', [sic] 'Kansas Raiders', 'The Maverick Queen' and 'Red Tomahawk' - is back riding tall in the saddle in "MOHAWK". The Edward L. Alperson production provides him with one of his best outdoor roles. The Brooklyn-born Brady (his elder brother is Hollywood actor Lawrence Tierney) portrays a two-fisted artist in the Old Wild West, the hero in this turbulent tale of white men, good and bad, mixing with marauding Redskins. "MOHAWK" is a legend of the Iroquois tribe, with the villains menacingly characterised by NEVILLE BRAND and JOHN HOYT. Brand, often cast as Indian 'heavies', served for ten years with U.S. Army [sic], gaining fame as his country's fourth most decorated soldier before setting his sights on a successful movie acting career. In "MOHAWK" Brady encounters a fiery Indian squaw maiden played by a dark-haired, seductive RITA GAM (who previously wore period costume for her starring roles in 'Sign of the Pagan', 'Magic Fire' and 'Kings of Kings' [sic]). Photographed in colour for the wide-screen, "MOHAWK" features an abundance of breathtaking scenery and hearty skirmishes with the Redskins to add pulsating excitement to this lively Western adventure. Also cast in important supporting roles are LORI NELSON, ALISON HAYES, VERA VAGUE, RHYS WILLIAMS and TED DE CORSIA. The whole stirring saga was masterminded by German-born veteran director Kurt Neumann, in Hollywood since 1925, who brings his years or expertise to this full-blooded outdoor action drama. Also featured as background musical accompaniment to the movie is the hit song, 'Love Plays the String Of My Banjo' in addition to the rousing title number, "MOHAWK".
