Synopsis

Mistaken by the villagers of Brodny as "The Inspector General", a tyrant friend of Napoleon, the villagers entertain Danny Kaye regally, afraid that he might inspect their municipal buildings and discover their crooked ways. His gypsy friend Yacov turns the situation to his own advantage and one hilarious situation builds quickly on top of another. Needless to say all turns out well and the villains get their just deserts [sic].
