Spock's behaviour is far from normal when he is forced to return home to the Planet Vulcan in order to participate in the ancient marriage ritual of Pon-Far. His fiance rejects him, an action which forces Spock to engage in mortal combat with his closest friend Captain James Kirk. A savage battle ensues in which only the victor can survive.
