This is one of the best films about the life of homosexuals - their passions, their quarrels, their enforced pretences, their ghettoes, their ultimate drab normality. Just because the theme is homosexuality provides the milieu and not the main point of the film, it is more persuasive than other films. Fox is much more than a love story; it is a stunning portrait of bourgeois morality.
