It is a black day for Sid Abbot when new neighbours, Ronald and Vera Bains, arrive. Life becomes a series of disastrous accidents as a cold war between the families breaks out, culminating in a custard pie, egg and bun-throwing battle. The result of this gooey rumpus marks the beginning of an hilarious friendship, and romance soon blossoms between the younger members of the households. Sid James brilliantly recreates his role as head of television's best-known family - the Abbots.
