This true historical drama set in the 1860s tells of one man's love for a spectacular area of his native countryside, and his fight for its survival. When Galan [sic] Clark learns from naturalist John Muir that the area is going to be ruthlessly exploited and eventually destroyed, he determines to take preventive action. His decision leads him into many dangerous and frightening situations. Finally, he takes his cause to the highest authority in the land: President Lincoln. The fact that the area he fought for is now one of the world's great scenic wonders is testimony to his efforts, now memorably chronicled in this exciting film.
