Can they make it in modelling without making the men who can make them?
When naive small-town girl Melody Pearson comes to New York to make a career in modelling, she soon discovers she has a lot to learn. She meets April, a model who's experienced in more ways than one, who tells her she'll have to be every bit as "co-operative" it she wants to get anywhere. She meets Jason, an unscrupulous agent, who confirms everything that April has told her. But Melody is not the sort of girl to abandon her dreams - and her own self-respect - so easily. Or is she? Certainly, Melody has a lot more lessons to learn before she can hope to achieve her ambition: to make it as a model on her own terms and on her own talent, and not, like April, simply as one of the YUM-YUM GIRLS.
